1. How does this church work?
Coast Hills Community Church was begun for the intent purpose of "helping people discover and follow Jesus". In order to see that dream become a reality in people's lives we focus our weekend service to present the timeless truth of Christianity in a way that impacts people in their "everyday" lives. No matter where you are, on your spiritual journey, you can grow in your understanding of what it means to be a Christ-follower at our services. A network of small groups (life groups), that meet in homes, throughout the community also help foster relationships and spiritual growth.
2. What should I wear to church?
Casual clothes are the norm at Coast Hills. Wear whatever is comfortable for you!
3. How long will the service last?
The weekend service at Coast Hills typically lasts one hour and fifteen minutes.
4. What will the service be like?
On weekends drama, multi-media, contemporary music and practical messages will be elements of your experience. There will be some participatory singing during the service. You are free to engage as fully as you are comfortable.
5. Will I need to say, sign or give anything?
At Coast Hills you will never be put on the spot. As a guest you won't be asked to give money or "register" your attendance (unless you place your child in our children's program -- for your child's security, we'll need to get some basic information). While there are several opportunities to receive more information about Coast Hills, your participation is at your discretion. Our hope is that you will let the service be our gift to you and that you'll know we're here to serve you.
6. What about my kids - do they come into the service with me or is there something going on for them?
Our children's ministry program, Kidz Life, provides an engaging and educational experience for infants, toddlers and kids through grade five. This allows you to receive the most from your experience at Coast Hills while your child is receiving high levels of care, attention, teaching - and fun!
Our Grade 6/7 Program, Fusion, meets during the Sunday morning service and on alternating Friday evenings. Check out the Fusion page for more information. Our Grade 8-12 Program, Elevate, meets on weekday evenings and every second Friday evening for planned events. Check out the Elevate page for more information.
7. Is this a Christian church . . . or something else?
Though non-traditional in style, Coast Hills Community Church is deeply committed to the eternal truths of the Christian faith. Our vision is simple: helping people discover and follow Jesus. That vision is rooted in the doctrine and tradition of the British Columbia Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches of which Coast Hills is a member.
